In 2018, CNA vacated their longtime headquarters at 333 South Wabash for a new downtown location. To make way for new tenants, significant demolition and abatement was required, including asbestos and spray fireproofing; demising walls; ductwork; carpet; and MEP systems. After abatement, Executive Construction upgraded the infrastructure and renovated 27 floors to return those floors to tenant-ready condition. This included updating security systems and telecommunication risers; install of new MEP components and core drywall on all floors; and install of new doors, frames, and hardware. As part of this multi-phased renovation, the lobby and amenity spaces were also upgraded employing strategic logistics to complete the work. A new daycare facility on floors 1 and 2 features classrooms; a dedicated elevator and egress stairwell; and an exterior steel terrace with outdoor play area.
